Operations & Events Manager

JOB PURPOSE

The Operations Manager's mandate is to plan, organize and supervise all logistical, technical and customer experience aspects of events organized by the Trois-Rivières Lions. He or she will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations, venue safety, participant satisfaction and consistency of actions on the ground. He or she will act as a central link between suppliers, internal teams and external stakeholders, always keeping in mind the efficiency, sustainability and quality of the fan experience.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Logistics planning and coordination:

- Develops the overall operational plan, including layout requirements, equipment, services and resources for all club events.

- Manages equipment and material requirements, including set-up and tear-down of various activities.

- Manages and assists with set-up and tear-down before, during and after games.

- Plans and directs all operational follow-up meetings with internal teams and external suppliers.

- Participates in the coordination of pre-match ceremonies and match presentations.

- Coordinates infrastructure logistics, equipment delivery and installation.

- Works closely with suppliers and external partners.

- Recruits, supervises and schedules game day staff.

- Works closely with all club departments to understand their needs in setting up events.

- Establishes deadlines.

- Produces post-event reports to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.

Manage event operations:

- Supervises game day staff, security, event corporation and concessions.

- Acts as contact person for all game day stakeholders.

- Handles unforeseen events and ensures rapid decision-making and effective communication with internal teams.

- Organizes and coordinates the team's off-ice events (press conferences, launches, golf tournaments, benefit evenings, etc.).

- Ensures a smooth and memorable experience for fans at games (fluidity at the entrance, atmosphere, complaint management).

- Follows up with customers.

- Ensures that every operational aspect contributes to a smooth, pleasant and safe experience for all participants.

- Works in collaboration with all departments and external stakeholders to ensure consistent implementation.

- Ensures compliance with protocols requested by the city and the ECHL.

Community :

- Participates in the community plan strategy with the marketing department.

- Manages the implementation and organization of our non-profit organization.

- Represents Lions at external community activities and events.

- Plan and execute the 50-50 game day, jersey draws, Chuck-a-puck and budget follow-up.

- Plans and organizes community events.

- Participates in the execution of activation kiosks throughout the year.


Boutique :

- Oversees boutique operations (employees and inventory).


All other related tasks

REQUIREMENTS AND PROFILE
The candidate must :

- College or university degree in administration, recreation, operations management, project management or other relevant field;

- 4 to 5 years' experience in a similar position;

- Bilingual in French and English, written and spoken;

- Ability to maintain, develop and sustain relationships with external partners;

- Excellent planning, coordination, problem-solving and stress management skills;

- Demonstrate autonomy, rigor and initiative;

- Good self-management, judgment and professional integrity;

- Valid driver's license

Attendance at all 36 home games and all team events is required at all times. This position involves atypical working hours.
