Director of Corporate Partnerships

Position Summary

Reporting to the President, the Director of Corporate Partnerships is responsible for the vision, development, and overall performance of the Trois-Rivières Lions’ partnership department, including all advertising integrations and activations at the Colisée Vidéotron.

The Director of Corporate Partnerships serves as the strategic leader for business development, with the primary mandate of driving sustainable sponsorship revenue growth. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategies focused on prospecting, partner retention, and maximizing existing agreements while ensuring a best-in-class partner experience.

This individual builds and maintains strong, long-term business relationships with current and prospective partners, positioning themselves as a strategic advisor and ambassador for the Trois-Rivières Lions brand within the business community. Autonomous, results-driven, and a strong team leader, the Director works closely with all departments to ensure optimal execution of partnership agreements and achievement of organizational objectives.

This is a full-time position, typically Monday to Friday. The Director of Corporate Partnerships must also be available for all Trois-Rivières Lions home games and team-related special events.

In addition to having a passion for hockey and a dynamic personality, the candidate must be motivated to play an integral role within a growing sports organization and embrace the responsibilities that come with working in a young and evolving organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and optimize the organization’s partnership strategy to maximize revenue by leveraging all intellectual property, digital assets, commercial platforms, and association rights;
  • Develop and execute short-, mid-, and long-term revenue growth strategies aligned with organizational financial and strategic objectives;
  • Oversee all sponsorship department operations, including recruitment, hiring, and staff management;
  • Design and implement a proactive business development and prospecting strategy, including identifying new markets, targeted industries, and strategic partners;
  • Manage the full sponsorship sales cycle;
  • Develop and execute innovative sponsorship activations in collaboration with the Communications and Marketing department;
  • Negotiate new partnership agreements and renewals while ensuring proper follow-up and relationship management;
  • Oversee fulfillment of partner commitments, including advertising inventory management, internal and external approval processes, value-in-kind exchanges, and cross-department collaboration;
  • Manage departmental budgeting, including revenue forecasting and performance reporting for senior leadership;
  • Actively contribute to expanding the Trois-Rivières Lions brand presence within regional, provincial, national, and international business communities;
  • Perform any other related duties contributing to organizational growth and success.

Qualifications & Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (specialization in sponsorship management considered an asset);
  • Significant experience in corporate partnerships, sponsorship sales, or event/sports sponsorship, preferably within professional sports or the entertainment industry;
  • Strong negotiation skills and proven ability to build long-term business relationships;
  • Demonstrated sales experience with a strong track record of achieving results;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and leadership abilities;
  • Excellent teamwork skills and ability to collaborate across departments;
  • Strategic creativity in developing high-impact sponsorship activations;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English;
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle required;
  • Strong knowledge of the Quebec sports market and professional hockey considered an asset;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

 

Attendance at all 36 home games and team events is required. The position involves non-traditional working hours, including evenings and weekends.
