For a third consecutive year, the Trois-Rivières Lions, ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, are proud to announce that driver Raphaël Lessard will once again represent the organization during the NASCAR Canada events at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, taking place from August 7 to 9.
The Beauce native has consistently delivered strong performances while carrying the Lions' colours on the streets of Trois-Rivières. In the first year of the partnership, Lessard charged from 11th on the starting grid to finish on the third step of the podium in the No. 7 car. Last year, he once again impressed by climbing from seventh to finish fourth.
This year, Lessard's car will proudly feature the colours of the Trois-Rivières Lions x Duclos Dodge.
Lessard shared his excitement with the fans. "I'm extremely proud to once again represent the Trois-Rivières Lions at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières. Wearing the colours of such a winning organization is a tremendous honour, and I'm also thrilled to have Duclos Dodge Chrysler alongside us on the car this year.
Now the work begins. My goal is simple: to have a fast race car and battle at the front of the field while putting on a great show for all the Lions fans at the Grand Prix. Thank you for your trust and for this incredible opportunity. As always, I'll give everything I have from the first lap to the last. See you at the track!"
New for this year's event, fans will enjoy even more NASCAR Canada action throughout the weekend. Activities begin on Saturday, August 8, with a practice session at 8:40 a.m., followed by two sprint races scheduled for 4:40 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. The weekend's feature event will take place on Sunday, August 9, as drivers battle over 45 laps, with the green flag set to wave at 2:18 p.m.
The 25-year-old Beauce driver's race car will be officially unveiled during the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières festivities. Be sure to follow the Trois-Rivières Lions on social media so you don't miss the reveal.
