Vidéotron and the Trois-Rivières Lions today announced, in collaboration with the City of Trois-Rivières and Spire Holdings, a five-year extension of their partnership agreement covering the naming rights of the Colisée Vidéotron, as well as Vidéotron’s status as an Official Partner of the Trois-Rivières Lions.

Announced on September 22 in the presence of Trois-Rivières Mayor Jean-François Aubin, Spire Holdings President Todd Mackin, Trois-Rivières Lions President Alex Cousineau, and Québecor President and CEO Pierre Karl Péladeau, this renewed commitment confirms Vidéotron’s longstanding ties to the Mauricie region and its support for a facility that, over the past five years, has become a true gathering place for the entire community.

The original partnership, signed in September 2021, officially named the arena the “Colisée Vidéotron” for a five-year period. The new agreement extends this partnership through 2031, strengthening a relationship that began when the building first opened.

A partnership rooted in the community

Inaugurated on September 12, 2021, the Colisée Vidéotron is the largest arena in the Mauricie region, with a capacity of up to 4,750 spectators. It is home to the Trois-Rivières Lions, an East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) team affiliated with the Montreal Canadiens, and hosts a wide range of sporting events throughout the year that bring the District 55 to life.

Over the past five years, the Colisée Vidéotron has established itself as a premier facility. It has hosted Trois-Rivières Lions games in front of record crowds, including the team’s 2025 Kelly Cup championship celebration, the opening and closing ceremonies of the 59th Finale des Jeux du Québec in the summer of 2025, as well as a Canada–United States Rivalry Series women’s hockey game that was played to a sold-out crowd in February 2023. The Colisée Vidéotron will also host the 2029 IIHF World Junior Championship in partnership with Québec City’s Centre Vidéotron. Hosting this prestigious competition, one of the world’s premier hockey tournaments, further confirms the Colisée Vidéotron’s status as a must-visit destination for major sporting events.

This renewal is in line with Vidéotron’s approach of viewing sports and cultural facilities as key drivers of community vitality. The company intends to continue playing a lasting role in Mauricie, where it is well established and serves thousands of residents and businesses.
