The Trois-Rivières Lions (affiliate club of the Montreal Canadiens) have announced the signing of defenseman Thomas Darcy for the 2026-2027 season.
A native of Terrebonne, Quebec, Thomas Darcy stands at 6-foot-1. The 22-year-old right-shot defenseman joins Trois-Rivières after splitting the 2025-2026 season between the Pétroliers de Laval of the LNAH and HK Skalica in Slovakia.
Before making the jump to professional hockey, Darcy played four seasons in the QMJHL with the Moncton Wildcats and the Quebec Remparts. In 94 regular-season games, he recorded 15 goals and 23 assists for a total of 38 points. His most memorable junior season came in 2022-2023, when he helped the Remparts reach the Memorial Cup title, the most prestigious championship in Canadian junior hockey.
Following his junior career, Darcy continued his development with the University of Guelph in U SPORTS, competing in the OUA conference. He then began his professional career with the Pétroliers de Laval, a team that captured the LNAH championship in 2025-2026, before finishing the season with HK Skalica in Slovakia’s second division, where his team also won the championship.
Darcy is now returning to Quebec to continue his professional career. “I’m very proud to be joining the Lions. It’s a great organization, close to home, and I’m really looking forward to starting this new chapter with my new teammates,” he said.
Darcy joins Anthony Beauregard, Mathias Laferrière, Landon Fuller, Édouard Charron, Jake Gravelle, Christopher Inniss, Mathieu Bizier, Isaac Dufort, Théo Gueurif, Sean Gulka, Kaleb Ergang, Félix Paré, Vincent Nardone, Samuel St-Hilaire and Thomas Lacombe among the players already confirmed for the 2026-2027 season.
