The Trois-Rivières Lions (affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) have signed Quebec forward Thomas Lacombe, who joins the club after spending the past several seasons in the U Sports university ranks.
The 25-year-old left-shot centerman spent the past few seasons with York University in Ontario, competing in the OUA West Division of U Sports. In 91 games with the Lions, Lacombe recorded 17 goals and 27 assists for 44 points.
Prior to his university career, the Boisbriand, Quebec native played three seasons with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). In 110 games, he totaled 10 goals and 21 assists for 31 points.
Lacombe was also a teammate of Mathias Laferrière during the 2020-21 season with the Armada.
In 2021-22, the forward continued his development with the Summerside Western Capitals of the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) in Prince Edward Island. He enjoyed an outstanding offensive season, finishing third in league scoring with 28 goals and 32 assists for 60 points while helping his team capture the league championship.
Following his university career, Lacombe now returns to Quebec to begin his professional career. He shared his excitement about the opportunity: "I'm very excited to join the Lions for next season. I can't wait to get started and give everything I have to help the team succeed."
Lacombe joins Anthony Beauregard, Mathias Laferrière, Landon Fuller, Édouard Charron, Jake Gravelle, Christopher Inniss, Mathieu Bizier, Isaac Dufort, Théo Gueurif, Sean Gulka, Kaleb Ergang, Félix Paré, Vincent Nardone, and Samuel St-Hilaire among the players already confirmed for the 2026–27 season.
