The Trois-Rivières Lions (affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) announced Monday that they have traded forward Robert Orr to the Florida Everblades (Pittsburgh Penguins affiliate) in exchange for future considerations.
The 23-year-old Montreal native signed a contract with the Trois-Rivières organization on August 13. He also appeared in both of the Lions’ preseason games during training camp.
Selected in the fifth round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes, Orr spent the past two seasons with the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers in U Sports, competing in the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) conference.
Prior to his university career, the left-shot forward played four seasons in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Halifax Mooseheads, Gatineau Olympiques and Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
Orr will now begin his professional career with the Florida Everblades.
The Trois-Rivières Lions will open their 2026-2027 season on Friday, October 16, at 7 p.m., when they host the Trenton Ironhawks at Colisée Vidéotron. Full-season and half-season tickets, Flex Packs and single-game tickets are available at lions3r.com or by contacting a sales representative at 819-519-1634, ext. 200.
