The Trois-Rivières Lions (affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) wrapped up their trip to Virginia in dominant fashion, crushing the Norfolk Admirals 7-1 to extend their winning streak to five consecutive games.

The Lions opened the scoring in the first period. Left all alone between the faceoff circles in the offensive zone, Kaleb Ergang capitalized on the opportunity to score his first goal of the season and his first in a Lions uniform. Nolan Hutcheson, who fed him a beautiful pass from behind the opposing net, and Kale McCallum were credited with assists.

A little later, Nathaël Roy doubled Trois-Rivières’ lead by taking a pass from Mathias Laferrière before depositing the puck into an empty net. Jake Gravelle also picked up an assist on the play.

The Norfolk Admirals cut the deficit to one in the second period on Holden Wale’s first goal of the season. However, the Lions were quick to regain control of the game.

Following a shot by Jacob Dion, Isaac Dufort, well positioned in front of the net, managed to put the puck past the goaltender for his third goal of the young season. Captain Anthony Beauregard was credited with an assist on the play.

Moments later, with both teams skating four-on-four, Brooklyn Kalmikov took advantage of a miscommunication between an Admirals defenceman and goaltender to extend the Lions’ lead. The newcomer extended his point streak to five consecutive games, recording at least one point in each of his five appearances this season. Alexander Legkov picked up his first ECHL point in his second game with Trois-Rivières, while Jake Gravelle added his second assist of the night.

The Lions continued their offensive push in the third period. Captain Anthony Beauregard found the back of the net twice, bringing his season total to five goals in as many games. Alexander Legkov assisted on the first goal, while Mathieu Bizier picked up an assist on the second. Brooklyn Kalmikov added two more points to his tally with assists on both of his captain’s goals, while Beauregard was named the game’s first star.

Jake Gravelle then rounded out the scoring, firing a shot from the blue line late in the game to record Trois-Rivières’ seventh goal. Xavier Bernard and Édouard Charron were each credited with an assist on the play.

Following a perfect road trip in the United States, the Lions will return home to the Colisée Vidéotron to face their fans on Friday, October 30, at 7 p.m. for Rock Night, followed by their Halloween game on Saturday, October 31, at 1 p.m.
